Sorry!!

I know it's been awhile since I have posted but it's been crazy here in Texas! I hope everyone is enjoying the fall season. It's been cold down here and I'm not enjoying it. Right now it's 48 degrees and to me that's cold...lol. I learned my lesson about going outside in cold weather...don't wear flipflops and always remember to wear a jacket! I believe it was saturday and the yard needed mowed so I volunteered to mow, well I'm the type that likes to get out there and get it done. So guess what...instead of wearing boots I wear flipflops...I also didn't wear a jacket...which was dumb because now I'm sick with a cold...lol. So now when I go outside I make sure and bundle up! Ya'll please stay warm! Anyway changing the subject. Who's ready for Thanksgiving??!! I know I'm ready! My family and I are going down to my mom's sister's cabins down by the Frio River. I'm super excited, because alot of family that I don't get to see that much are going to be there! I will defintly take tons of pictures so that I can share them with ya'll!!! Well I have tons of things to get done so bye for now and Happy Thanksgiving!

~BE THANKFUL~

Yay! I have been waiting all summer long for fall to arrive. Don't get me wrong I love summer and all of the fun things that happened and the memories I made but fall is the season where you can relax and just enjoy life. And I love this time of the year because of Thanksgiving! All the different pies and all the different food's, the smell of pumpkin pie candles, decorating the house...the list could go on...lol. But as Thanksgiving and Christmas roll around, I think of all the families that don't get to celebrate the holiday's like we do. I think of the homeless out there with nothing, the children that don't get presents at Christmas, the families that don't have a nice turkey dinner, And I realize how thankful I should be for everything I have. A couple years ago me and my cousin went with one of her friends that was a EMT to the firehouse  and helped the firefighters pass out gifts to family's that couldn't afford to buy present's that year. It was so heartbreaking because so many kids were embarrassed to accept the gifts. And you could tell the parents were on the verge of tears. Even for Easter outreach the church we used to attend would separate in teams and go door knocking to pass out flyers for the Easter drama. The team that I was on went to a women/family shelter, and it was sad to see the women there...they were so broken and afraid. Obviously no men worked on the women's side there due to most of the women's pasts. The only man that was with us was the team leader and you could just feel the tension as we walked into the room where the women were gathered. I was trying my best not to break down. Then there was the family side. Each family had a small cubicle where they slept and kept their belongings. As we walked in everyone just stared at us like ''What are these kind of people doing here?''. As we talked to each family and invited them to the drama and said there would be food, prizes and etc...their faces would light up and they would start smiling. When we walked out of there that night I thought of how blessed I was to have everything I have. I hope this holiday season ya'll remember those who have less than us and remember to be thankful for everything you have! Even if you have some rinky dinky car...hey it gets you where your going at least. Even if your house ain't your dream house...BE THANKFUL! I hope ya'll enjoy the holiday season this year.

Another German Shepard!

So my dad came home from work the other day and told us he had a surprise for us kids. I kinda figured it would be another dog mainly because he kinda gave it away by going online and looking at this certain dog on Dovetail Kennels website. So finally when he mustered up enough guts to tell us the surprise he told us that there was this male German Shepard that Dovetail Kennels was retiring and that the owner said that if we wanted Chaos(the dog) he was ours for no charge! I almost had a heart attack...Lol. No charge for a European full-blood German Shepard? Wow! The main reason they had to retire him was because he has some eye problems and Dovetail Kennels is a breeding kennel so they didn't want to take a chance with one of his puppies having the same problem. So anyway thought I would share this exciting news with ya'll! We have had him for about five days and he seems to be adjusting well. He loves to play outside but with Gracie allowed in the house, how could we say no to Chaos being in the house? Lol! He's 35 lbs heavier than Gracie and he's taller than her also, so were having to adjust having two large dogs in the house. It's funny because he may be big but when the doorbell rings he don't bark, wherefore Gracie goes nuts.  You would think that him being the larger dog he would be more aggressive but no Gracie is. Yesterday Gracie was trying to eat out of his food bowl and I was sitting next to Chaos on the floor, well apparently Chaos didn't like the fact that Gracie was eating his food. Next thing I know he started growling...Oh my word it scared me sooooo bad! I jumped up and was like ''OK I guess he can be aggressive''. I think Gracie is a little jealous that she's not the only big dog anymore but she's just gonna have to deal with it. I could write all day about Chaos and Gracie but I have to go! Here are some pictures of Chaos and Gracie..

Sad Update 2:

We took Gracie to the vet and had an ex-ray done and found out there's no more puppies ...so she only had one and it didn't live so that means no more dogs for us...*sniffle*...anyways next month she's getting spayed so hopefully after that she will have no more health problems. Right now she's grieving the loss of her puppy that died and she keeps looking for him. It's so sad to watch her grieve. Well I better go...Bye for now.

Sad Update:

Last night Gracie went into labor and after awhile gave birth to a male puppy. When he came out we knew instantly that he was stillborn. She tried to revive him. I gave him CPR and rubbed him down with a warm towel sadly nothing worked. Well we put him in a box and we are going to bury him beside Jake. So we waited for her to birth another puppy but nothing happened. Gracie's about 10 years old so that's pretty old for a Shepard. That could be why she only birthed one. Her belly still looks full so I'm wondering if one came early and the rest are going to come out within the next 8-10 hours? Some people said to wait 24 hours from the time she gave birth to the first one and then if she doesn't have any more take her to the vet. So by 10:00 p.m we will know for sure. Well I just wanted to update ya'll.

Random Post...

Hey I know it's been 4 weeks since I have posted but I have been SUPER busy! Vacation, Birthday Party's and helping some people organize their homes so ya I have had no time to blog..lol! I am gonna be posting pictures of my nanny's 100th birthday so be looking for that and don't forget to check out my other blog. Craftycountrychic.blogspot.com. I hope y'all are enjoying summer because I'm about ready for winter! I enjoy getting to swim and tan and go walking/running but it get's sooooooooo humid here in Texas and it makes it hard to stay outside long unless your in the water..lol. We did get to go down to the Frio river down in Concan,Texas where my aunt and uncle rent cabins. We had a blast down there!! We went tubing and floated like 2 hours down the river. The fun part about floating down the river is that in a lot of spots it's more like rapids...Lol...so half of the time it felt like we were going through a washing machine. Then me and my brother went swimming...which was crazy because the river was carrying us down the river...we didn't even have to try to swim! Anyway's it's been a fun summer and I'm ready for school to start! I'm finally a junior! Yayyyyyyyyyyy! Can't believe it! Well I need to go work on my other blog so I better get going. Bye!
